How to prepare for your upcoming visit

DexaFit Body Scan

  1. Fast for at least 2 hours before scan.

  2. Limit activity before scan (no exercise).

  3. Do NOT come in dehydrated

  4. Avoid taking any calcium supplements in the 24 hours prior to the scan.

  5. Make sure there is no metal on your clothing.

  6. You will be asked to empty your pockets and remove any significant amounts of metal (watch, belt, glasses, jewelry, etc.)

  7. No gastrointestinal contrast, barium or other contrast medium, or radionuclides within 48 hours of your appointment.

VO2 Max Fitness Test

  1. Fast for a minimum of 3 hours before your test (water is fine). 

  2. Limit your activity before your visit (no exercise).

  3. Get adequate sleep the night before

  4. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test.

  5. Wear workout clothes and athletic shoes (the test is done on a treadmill or bike).

RMR Metabolism Test

  1. Fast for a minimum of 5 hours (water is fine) before test. 

  2. Limit your activity beforehand (no exercise).

  3. Get adequate sleep the night before (test is ideally performed in the morning)

  4. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test and avoid alcohol within 12 hours of it.

  5. Wear comfortable clothing.

Red Light Therapy

  1. Drink plenty of water before and after your session to help support cellular function and enhance the body's response to treatment.

  2. Avoid excessive makeup and don't apply any oils, lotions or moisturizers to your skin within an hour before your appointment as these can prevent the light from penetrating.

  3. You will be relaxing and laying flat on a massage table for up to 20min. There is a sweet spot for treatment with red light. The maximum amount of time you should expose your body to this concentrated red light is 15-20 minutes a day. MORE IS NOT BETTER!

  4. Wear comfortable light clothing such as shorts, tank-top, sports bra or bathing suit for your session. You will not be fully undressing for this service. Please bring your own eye protection if desired.
